It's cold here this morning!! I'm pretty sure it didn't get this cold last year. Maybe I blocked it out of my memory...There's ice everywhere!! So, needless to say, we're staying inside today. Plus, Gabe took the car so he wouldn't freeze his butt off!
Let's see, all the dentist appointments went well this week. I'm so proud of Tyler! He sat in the big chair (with his monkey) and was SO GOOD! The hygienist was so great with him. She let him touch all the tools before they started so he'd know what was going on. It was great. Not so great, he has two little cavities on the front of his k-9s. I have no idea where they came from, but the dentist thinks he'll do fine with a slow speed drill and no sedation. Nice! So that appointment is the 26th.
We got some fantastic news yesterday from Gabe's detailer. We got orders! We'll be going to the West Virginia which is stationed HERE! YAY! And best of all, he won't have to leave shore duty early! He checks in to the boat JUNE 30TH!!! WOO-HOO!!! I'm so excited we've got another 5 months to get everything together before he starts going out to sea again. YAY!
Tomorrow is the big preschool day. Well, we're just checking it out. But, if all goes well, he'll be starting Tuesday. I'm nervous and excited. I feel better that his best little friend, Gabe, will be there too. That'll make it a lot easier on the both of us! I'm excited at the prospect of spending an hour or two at the gym twice a week!
I'll post pictures of Gabe's cake when I make it. Should be pretty nice. :) For now, here's a new recipe. We made this Breakfast Bake Christmas morning with leftover honey baked ham. I thawed a bag of leftover ham (Gabe insisted on ordering an 8 lb ham for Christmas!) and made it for dinner. It was EVEN BETTER this time (if that's possible!) It tastes just like a crossn'wich from Burger King! I served it with sliced cantaloupe and avocados. It was warm and comforting and DELISH!
Breakfast Bake
1 can crescent dinner rolls
8 oz (1-1 1/2 cups) chopped ham
6 eggs
1/2 cup cold milk
1/2 tsp pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Unroll dough in a 13x9 dish; press to cover bottom, sealing seams. Sprinkly ham over crust. Beat eggs, milk and pepper w/whisk until blended. Pour over ham. Top with cheeses. Bake 30 minutes until center is set. 8 servings @ 300 calories each.
You can defintely make this healthier with reduced fat crescent rolls, skim milk and less cheese. I only used 1 cup of cheese last night and it was just tasty!
