306-Crazy long post!

Day 15!! We're halfway through the Shred workout and I'm feeling pretty great today. I was in an awful, angry mood last night. A workout, a little girl time with Cassie and some True Blood helped immensely!! I woke up refreshed and recharged. I'm actually looking forward to working out now, even though level two still kicks my butt pretty good.

Tyler and I had a great weekend! We went to the Farmer's Market in Fernandina and had a great time. While the produce was over priced (in my opinion) we found a great stand called Blue Planet. He sells tons of organice beans, seeds, homemade granolas, crackers and snacks. I bought Adzuki beans, homemade almond butter (WAAAY cheaper than the grocery store!), unsweetened shredded coconut, and these amazing flax seed crackers. I don't know how he made them, but I'm impressed. :) We let the kids play at a playground, ate a healthy lunch and then checked out the Nassau Health Foods grocery store. There I FINALLY found some recipe ingredients/staples that I've been looking for like red lentils, puffed rice cereal, nutritional yeast and nondairy chocolate chips. I can't wait to use everything!!

My treehugging redheaded friend, Hollie, mentioned making smoothies in her blog a few days ago.. Tyler has been driving me crazy with his non-breakfast eating habits so I decided to try a smoothie. He went nuts! Our first smoothie consisted of a frozen ripe banana (who doesn't have those in their freezer?!), blueberries and coconut milk. Tyler was in heaven!! The super ripe banana add the sweetness so you don't have to add anything else to it. Tyler made his own smoothie yesterday that consisted of blueberries, frozen strawberries, grapes and vanilla rice milk (the only way that nasty stuff is getting used! I think I'll stick to almond milk!) ::shrug:: I had a little sip and it was tangy, but he liked it. Today's smoothie was by far the best one yet! Frozen and fresh banana, frozen and fresh strawberries, blueberries and coconut milk. So thick and creamy and delicious!

Our smoothies :) Tyler insisted on the strawberry. Can you tell we watch a lot of Food Network? HAHA!

Tyler's breakfast! Smoothie, sliced strawberries and homemade granola (which turned out FANTASTIC!!)

I wish we had more!! YUM!

Aww, thanks for the shout-out! I am dying to try strawberries in my smoothies. I have to figure out how to get Ben to try them. Maybe if they were in popsicle form...
